Places to visit - Wells-Next-The-Sea

Wells-next-the-Sea, commonly known as Wells, is a picturesque coastal town located in the county of Norfolk, England and is one of our favourite places to visit!

We often stay in the local campsite which is peaceful and beautiful and only a few minutes from the glorious sandy beach.

Wells has a working harbor that serves both commercial and leisure purposes. The harbor is a hub for fishing boats, small vessels, and recreational boats, contributing to the town's maritime atmosphere.

The quayside in Wells is a charming area lined with traditional seaside shops, cafes, and fish and chip stalls.

The village itself is a 1 mile walk up the road following the harbour (yes it's a long walk, but worth it!), it's a shame the miniature train has been stopped, where you can explore this village and go crabbing off the harbour. Our kids absolutely love this.

The beach is part of Holkham Bay and is a popular destination for beachgoers, families, and nature enthusiasts.

Wells-next-the-Sea hosts an annual summer carnival, featuring a variety of events, parades, and activities for locals and visitors.

Wells-next-the-Sea is known for its natural beauty, coastal charm, and a mix of outdoor activities, making it a popular destination for those seeking a seaside retreat with a touch of history and culture, oh and don't forget to visit the 120yr old cargo boat - The Albatros!
