Places to visit: Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight is a picturesque island located off the southern coast of England in the English Channel. It is situated just a few miles off the coast of Hampshire, and the Solent Strait separates it from the mainland.

The Isle of Wight brings back memories of all our childhoods with school trips there.  We've been lots of times with our children and the whole experience for them is so exciting, especially driving onto a boat!

The Isle of Wight has so much to do for everyone form the sandy beaches and chalk cliffs of Shanklin and Sandown to Blackgang Chine, The Needles, Robin Hill and so much more.

The Isle of Wight has a rich history, Carisbrooke Castle, a medieval fortress, is a notable historic site on the island and Osborne House, the former residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, is another major attraction.

The island offers a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, and water sports. The Isle of Wight Festival, one of the UK's major music festivals, takes place annually as well as Cowes Week, a renowned sailing regatta that brings sailors and spectators to Cowes each summer.

The Isle of Wight is one of the rare places we would love to move to!
